Birth Doula Services

Continuous social support during labor, as provided by a birth doula has been shown to improve birth outcomes and greatly contribute to positive birth experiences. Research has shown that when doulas attend birth, labors are shorter with fewer complications, and moms and babies are more likely to successfully breastfeed.

Doula Service Package:

  • Free virtual consultation: A "Get-to-Know-You" interview to be sure that I am the right doula for you.
  • 1 prenatal visit in your home prior to 38 weeks to discuss your expectations and all your birth options. During this time I will share information and you and your partner can ask questions, and we will get to know one another.
  • 1 virtual prenatal meeting near your estimated due date.
  • Book lending library on request.
  • Unlimited phone and e-mail contact to discuss the course of your pregnancy, help you form questions for your healthcare provider, and calm any anxieties.
  • Continuous labor support, including at home, once you are in labor and are ready for support.
  • Initial breastfeeding assistance immediately postpartum to make sure you are settled in the first hours after birth.
  • Postpartum visit at your home to provide assistance with postpartum recovery, lactation, and processing the birth.

A doula can provide support at a natural birth, an epidural birth, or even a cesarean birth!

Doula Services: $1200.

What do doula fees cover?

Travel - Costs associated with driving to and from prenatal and postpartum visits, travel to and from the hospital or birth location, and any parking fees.

Supplies - Lending library, worksheet and handout printing, supplies used for myself, the mother and the partner during labor.

Time - Hours your doula spends with you prenatally, the full length of labor (can be 24 hours or more!), and postpartum.

Back-up - Assurance that you will have a doula with you in the rare instance that your primary doula is sick, has an emergency, or is attending another birth at the same time.

Your doula is fully available to you and on-call for the two weeks before and after your estimated due date. That means that she might miss work or be called from events with family and friends.

Note: A birth doula is a non-medical member of your birth team. She attends births to meet the emotional, physical and informational needs of the mother and her partner. She is not trained to provide any medical services or make any medical decisions.
